1.0 This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally identifiable information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context.

Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information.

1.1 What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app? When requesting free materials or registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address or other details to help you with your experience.

1.2 When do we collect information?  We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to a newsletter, become a member, fill out a form when requesting free material or enter information on a ticket on our site.

1.3 How do we use your information?  We may use the information we collect from you when you register, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

1.3.1  To improve our app or websites in order to better serve you.

1.3.3  To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.

1.3.4  To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.

1.3.5  To quickly process your transactions.

1.3.6  To send periodic emails regarding your ministry requests or products and scheduled events or services.

1.4 How do we protect visitor information? Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

1.5 Security measures:  We implement a variety of security measures when a user makes a request, joins as a member, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

1.6 Do we use ‘cookies’?  We do not use cookies for tracking purposes.  You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser’s Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.  If you disable all cookies, some features will be disabled that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly.  However, you can still request materials or make donations.

1.7 Third Party Disclosure: We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for diagnostics or other uses.

1.8 Third party links: We do not include or offer third party products or services on our website or app.  However, the app and website allows users to link to social media accounts or the internet; these platforms are governed by their own policies.  These services are not activated automatically, and require explicit authorization by the User. Further, the User assumes responsibility for the Personal Data of third parties published or shared through this Application and declares to have the right to communicate or broadcast them, thus relieving the Data Controller of all responsibility for such activities. 1.9 Google Advertising Principles:  Google’s advertising requirements are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. See more at: Google support.  We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site but we may do so in the future.

2.0 California Online Privacy Protection Act: CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy. – See more at: CalOPPA  

 2.1 According to CalOPPA we agree to the following:

2.1.1 Users can visit our site anonymously

2.1.2 Once this privacy policy is created (or modified), we will add a link to it on our home page, or as a minimum on the first significant page after entering our website.

2.1.3 Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’, and can be easily be found on the page specified.

2.2 How does our site we handle do not track signals? We honor do not track signals and do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT)  mechanism is in place.

2.3 Does our site allow third party behavioral tracking?  It’s also important to note that we do not allow third party behavioral tracking. 

3.0 COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act): When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control.  The Federal Trade Commission, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online. We do not specifically market to children under 13.

4.0 CAN SPAM Act: The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

4.1 We collect your email address in order to:

4.1.1  Send information; respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.

4.1.2  Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to orders.

4.1.3. We may also send you additional information related to your product and/or service.

4.1.4  Market to our mailing list or continue to send emails clients after the original transaction has occurred.

4.2 To be accordance with CANSPAM we agree to the following:

4.2.1  NOT use false, or misleading subjects or email addresses.

4.2.2  Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.

4.2.3  Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.

4.2.4  Monitor third party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used.

4.2.5  Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly.

4.2.6  Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.

4.3 If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, you can:

4.3.1  Follow the instructions at the bottom of each email.  No reluctant subscribers.

4.3.2  We have a policy of removing e-mail address if you are an inactive participant without notice.

5.0 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):  TRI Communications, Inc. (a/k/a Think Red Ink Ministries, TRI Radio) is committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679). As a data controller, we strive to ensure the lawful, fair, and transparent processing of personal data.

5.1 Data Collection and Processing: We collect and process personal data for specific and legitimate purposes, as outlined in our Privacy Policy. The types of personal data collected, the processing purposes, and the legal basis for processing are clearly defined.

5.2 Data Subject Rights: Data subjects have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of their personal data. They also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.

5.3 Data Security: We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data.

6.0 Data Protection Review Court (DPRC): In addition to GDPR compliance, TRI Communications, Inc. (a/k/a Think Red Ink Ministries, TRI Radio) recognizes the importance of adhering to the decisions and rulings of the Data Protection Review Court (DPRC).

6.1 Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs): We conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments where required by law and cooperate with the DPRC in their review process.

6.2 Cooperation with Authorities:  We cooperate with the DPRC and relevant data protection authorities to ensure transparency and compliance with applicable data protection laws.

6.3 Updates and Amendments: This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in GDPR or DPRC regulations. Users will be notified of any material changes.
